Our Programs

Diverse Learning Environments

Red Head Baby

Infants (6 weeks - 12 months)

Infants change dramatically and reach many milestones during their first year of life.  At Joyland we seek to encourage development while providing a safe, calming environment.  We want you to feel confident leaving your baby in the hands of our experienced infant teachers knowing that all their needs will be tended to.  We offer both full and part time care (based on availability).

Our primary focus is the bond and relationship between the caregiver and each individual baby. Studies of attachment show that children who have emotionally secure relationships early in life are more likely to be self-confident and socially competent. We provide consistent care and low ratios. Once a baby is secure in their environment they will feel confident to explore.

Examples of Classroom Goals Include:

  • Meet infants’ emotional, physical, language, social and cognitive needs

  • Provide plenty of one-on-one attention with an assigned caregiver for every baby

  • Provide parents with excellent communication on baby’s daily activities

  • Let babies (or parents) set their individual schedule

  • Give parents reassurance knowing they can visit our center anytime without having to call in advance

  • Provide a safe, clean and calming environment

Older Infants (13 months - 23 months)

Our older infant classroom, also known as our Wobbler room, is designed for children ages 12 to 23 months.  At this age children are becoming more mobile and are enthusiastic about exploring the world around them.  They also begin to seek the familiarity of routine.  At Joyland we have developed a daily schedule to meet their physical, social-emotional, language development and cognitive needs.  In addition, we have a weekly theme schedule, built around our curriculum, designed with their age in mind.

Example of Classroom Goals Include:

  • Provide an array of activities to stimulate their development

  • Expose children to new concepts including letters, numbers, sign language, colors and shapes through the use of repetition and age-appropriate activities

  • Provide parents with excellent communication on daily activities

  • Maintain a flexible daily schedule that meets each child’s needs

  • Encourage interest in books by reading in groups and individually

In addition, we have a weekly theme schedule, built around our curriculum, designed with their age in mind. We also include a gym class.
